With many years of experience as a headteacher and adviser, I bring a unique blend of skills, insights, and perspectives to support school leaders in maximising performance, particularly when navigating complex challenges.
Prior to establishing Eamont Education, I served as Senior Adviser for Schools at Westmorland and Furness Council. In this role, I had the privilege of working closely and collaboratively with both new and experienced headteachers from schools of all sizes and contexts. Support for school leaders, underpinned by positive, trusting relationships, was the driving principle within the local authority throughout this time.
I’ve always believed strongly in the power of systems leadership and have worked with colleagues and partners across a range of sectors to add value at a strategic level. I’ve led improvement initiatives in a range of settings, including county-wide strategies. As of March 2025, 99% of the 103 maintained schools in Westmorland and Furness were rated ‘Good’ or better by Ofsted. To be able to work alongside school leaders as a local authority adviser, in a climate of genuine openness and trust, is something I’m incredibly proud of.
I began my teaching career in an infant school in East London, having completed a four-year education degree as a mature student. Since then, I’ve developed a strong track record across teaching, lecturing, leadership and advisory roles.
I’ve been a headteacher in maintained schools and academies, in both rural and urban areas. My time as an interim headteacher was especially formative as I worked alongside new colleagues in difficult circumstances to identify priorities, rebuild trusting relationships with communities and ensure sustainable progress.
Today, I work independently with schools, trusts, and local authorities across the country, offering expert support in navigating change, developing school performance and further enhancing leadership effectiveness.
I’m a qualified executive coach and a faculty member of The British School of Coaching. I hold a Master’s degree in Education and completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) in 2012.
I founded Eamont Education to dedicate my professional focus to the area I care most deeply about: school leadership.
